Do not be lulled into a sense of complacency by believing
that a "flexible" coupling will compensate any shaft misalignment. The flexibility of a coupling is made to handle the
torque at startup, not shaft misalignment. The fact is, that while a coupling may withstand several thousanths of an
inch of misalignment, the bearings and seals will not. Shafts should be aligned to the offset and angular tolerances
listed below for optimal performance.
